It is quite normal and healthy for any relationship to experience occasional ups and downs and doesn’t essentially mean that the relationship is in trouble. However, if your relationship is really in trouble then it is important to watch for some warning signs and know what can be done to save the relationship.

Here are some of the most important signs of trouble in a relationship. If you find one or more of these sound familiar then you should get proactive and start the process of transforming your troubled relationship into a loving and healthier one.
Bad or negative communication. The most important thing in a relationship is communication because if it breaks down, everything else automatically suffers to the last end.

  • Blaming each other. A continuous confrontation to take responsibility for oneself and one’s actions is a sign of troubled relationship. Constantly blaming someone or something else can be an indication of yours or your partner’s lack of maturity to be held accountable for the actions.

  • Power struggles in the relationship. If both the partners want to make the decisions and try to be in charge, it means that the relationship is going to be in trouble, and also this emotional tug of war breeds resentment.
  • Selfishness. Always trying to tell your partner what you are getting from them rather than what you are giving to them. This type of behavior is often shown in keeping score, and is surely a sign of troubled relationship.
  • Money problems. If money is becoming more of an issue and both the partners are arguing frequently over money and money problems, then it can cause tension and anger, and is another definite sign of trouble in relationship.
  • Spending time individually. One of the most prominent sign of troubled relationship is that both the partners spend more and more time apart from each other. In this case, the relationship can be healed by spending quality time together.
  • Lose of temper. Another sign of troubled relationship is to lose temper on a regular basis. If either or both of you are experiencing this, then try to learn how to compromise, and take a deep breath before saying hurtful things.
  • Sneakiness. Trust is the most basic thing in any good relationship. Misunderstandings do arise, but if you do not trust your partner, you will not be able to leave your life open to your partner.
  • Focusing on the end of the relationship. Constantly obsessing over how and when the relationship will end is also the highly destructive sign in a relationship.
